Privacy Policy — GIFT Quiz Editor Plus
Last updated: April 21, 2026
Overview
GIFT Quiz Editor Plus is a Google Forms Editor Add-on that allows users to create quiz questions using the GIFT text format. This policy explains what data the add-on accesses, how it is used, and what is never collected.
Data We Access
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| The active Google Form (questions, structure) | To create, replace, or append questions on your behalf |
| GIFT text you type into the sidebar | To parse and convert it into Google Forms questions |
Data Storage
- Document Properties (Google’s servers): The last GIFT text you submitted is saved to the form’s document properties via Google’s
PropertiesService. This data is stored by Google, tied to the specific form, and is only used to restore your last session when you reopen the sidebar in that form. - Browser localStorage: The sidebar autosaves your in-progress GIFT text to your browser’s
localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect any personal information.
- We do not transmit any data to external servers.
- We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising.
- We do not read any Google Drive files other than the active form.
- We do not store data beyond what is described above.
Third-Party Services
This add-on does not integrate with any third-party services. All processing happens locally in your browser or within Google’s own Apps Script infrastructure.
Permissions
The add-on requests the following OAuth scopes:
| Scope | Purpose |
|---|---|
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/forms |
Read and modify the active Google Form |
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui |
Display the sidebar UI inside Google Forms |
These are the minimum permissions required for the add-on to function.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the Last updated date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the add-on after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
